Coronet Peak is the nearest famous ski area to Queenstown, being only 25 minutes from the town centre. It is also arguably the most popular ski area in the South Island, playing host to the Queenstown Winter Festival and the FIS Southern Cup, as well as being the training grounds of New Zealand’s own National Ski Team. Boasting one of the finest terrains in the region, Coronet Peak is the coveted holiday hub of highly competitive skiers and snowboarders who glory in the challenges posed by its diverse terrain. Night-skiing is an exclusive offering of this ski area.

The Remarkables, which rope off Lake Wakatipu’s south-eastern shores, are so called due to being one of the only two mountain ranges that fall directly from north to south. Forty-five minutes away from Queenstown, this fully facilitated ski field comprises three gently-dipping, sun-shiny yet sheltered area spanning 280 hectares offering a range of winter fun.

Cardona Ski Slopes is a 320 hectare terrain which towers 390m above ground level. Comprising three valleys, this area is located an hour away from the town centre and boasts both gentle slopes for beginners and adrenaline-pumping challenges for veterans.

Treble Cone is the furthest of the world-class ski terrains within reach of Queenstown, as well as the largest. An hour and half away from the town, the 550 hectare area is most noted for having the some of the best children’s facilities in New Zealand ski slopes as well as well-groomed runs suitable for learners and intermediate skiers.

These fully facilitated ski grounds as well as Queenstown itself can take care of all the guests’ equipment and medical needs. Just strap on a pair of skies and take the plunge.
