News|Rotorua Open Studios Project free to visitorsThe initiative sees eight resident artists given spaces to work in the Rotorua Arts Village, which is open to the public between 11:00 and 15:00 local time every day apart from Monday and Sunday. International talent Nina Maika from Brisbane and Noni Choi from Korea, are among the people using the studios. The artists also include Rebecca Farren, Huihana Rewa, Julie Voss, Pamela Lines, Adrienne Westwood and Bridget Thornton. Pieces will be very diverse, with some of the residents preferring to make fashion and jewellery, while others are working on sculpture, painting, assemblage, costumes, high art and interactive projects. The initiative is taking up all the ground floor studios of the facility, which is located on Hinemaru Street.
