Kingsgate Rotorua hotel is likely to be the ideal place to stay while partaking in the Rotorua Off Road Half Marathon the company has sponsored.

The event will take place on March 4th and will include three activities, including a fun run for children aged up to six years old that is 1.5 km long and called the Little Devils non-competitive race.

While little ones enjoy this challenge, youngsters between the ages of seven and ten can have a go at a three km route.

Adults will be expected to make it a little further, with half marathon, quarter marathon and five km tracks available.

The routes are in the Whakarewarewa Forest, which the organisers described as "spectacular" and up to 2,000 competitors are expected to take part.

Also being held in Rotorua soon is the Xterra Rotorua Festival, which will see participants enter races up to 26 km long.
