The Waikato Times Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival may be an exciting event for those staying at the local Kingsgate Hotel to attend and it is set to kick off this month.

Over the course of two weeks, visual art, theatre, film, comedy, literature, music and food and wine will be on offer in the city.

Families visiting the area may be on the lookout for family entertainment and many shows are provided for kids as part of the festival.

These include Maui Magic, which sees New Zealand legends acted out in the gardens, including battles with mythical gods.

Meanwhile, comedy fans may be interested in watching farce The Miser of Mystery Creek, which is set in 1867 and based on Moliere's the Miser.

Films will also be screened, including classics North By North West and A Fist Full of Dollars.

The event will take place between February 18th and March 3rd.
