News|Solid Energy Coast Kids' Triathlon Series held in GreymouthThe Solid Energy Coast Kids' Triathlon Series will be held in the town on February 19th and will give youngsters the chance to show off their sporting skills. Competitors will be racing against others in their age group, with eight to ten-year-olds challenged to swim 100 m, cycle four km and then run 1.5 km. Meanwhile, kids aged 11 and 12 will double the distance in the water and on wheels but sprint for the same length. The new Youth Triathlon will also be held in Greymouth that day, providing categories for 14 and 15-year-olds and others aged up to 18. "[It] is about getting out there training, giving it your best shot on race day and having heaps of fun along the way," the organiser the Canterbury West Coast Sports Trust stated. The organisation recently ran an event at Lake Brunner Moana called Aqua Have a Go Day 2012, where anyone could turn up and try their hand at sailing, kayaking and Waka Ama.
