Home > News > Anna Coddington to play Dunedin

People hoping to see Anna Coddington sing live may need to book a room in Dunedin hotels.

The singer will perform in the city on February 2nd with Bob Scott of The Bats and The Clean.

It will be one of eight gigs the artist is playing across New Zealand in a tour she has already started with a show at Auckland's Kings Arms Tavern yesterday (January 26th) and another at Yot Club in Raglan today.

Described as an "enchanting songstress", Coddington will be backed by a band of three as she plays songs off of her recently released second solo album Cat & Bird.

Guitarist Ned Ngatae, drummer Riki Gooch and bassist Mike Hall will be performing as part of the group.

The singer explained the tracks she wrote for Cat & Bird "are me imagining what it would be like to be someone else, or taking a small emotion or thought and amplifying it".

"A lot of these songs are celebrations and assurances and assertions," she added.
