Rock fans might find a stay in an Auckland hotel in the new year is the ideal choice as American band Urge Overkill as set to play a show in city.

The group - famed for hits including Positive Bleeding, Sister Havana and Girl You'll Be A Woman Soon - are set to take to the stage at The Powerstation on March 6th for what could prove to be a night to remember for those taking a break in New Zealand's largest urban area.

Attendees will be able to watch the onstage chemistry between the act's original singer-guitarists Nash Kato and Eddie 'King' Roeser with bassist Mike Hogkiss and drummer Brian Quast and enjoy songs from their latest album Rock & Roll Submarine in a live setting.

The Sisters Of Mercy are also expected to perform at the same venue on February 22nd, so music lovers planning a trip a little earlier in the year might find they are able to catch them in action.
