Couples and families enjoying a break at an Auckland hotel early next year can time their arrival in the city to coincide with the start of a tasty seafood event.

The Auckland Seafood Feastival kicks off on January 28th and runs for three days, with a vast array of delicacies from under the waves on offer.

Organisers have promised more dishes than ever before will be available to those who attend the event, which is this year taking place in a brand new venue.

As well as the chance to tuck into some local grub, tourists will be able to sit back, relax and enjoy a number of top Kiwi music acts.

The 2012 festival is to be held at the Wynyard Quarter, a recent addition to the city's stylish waterfront area.

Another entertainment option in Auckland next year is available in the form of An Evening With David Sedaris, as the writer is due to appear at the town hall on January 18th and 19th.
