Christchurch is the largest city in New Zealand’s South Island with a population of over 350,000. Located on the edge of the Canterbury plains, Christchurch is the main starting point for touring the South Island. Christchurch is known as the Garden City and its English heritage shows in the city’s older buildings, with the Anglican Cathedral located in the heart of the city taking centre stage.
