Nestled amidst the panoramic environs of Wellington, the Beehive is one of the four buildings that house the Parliament of New Zealand. A magnificent structure, it is known for its unique and distinct architecture, characterised by its beehive-shaped appearance. Housing a number of ministerial offices, it is located at the heart of New Zealand’s political centre, nestled in a corner between Lambton Quay and Molesworth Street. As a  NZ parliament building in Wellington, it is one of the most visited tourist attractions in New Zealand, drawing in large crowds who are keen on witnessing an iconic symbol of New Zealand’s stunning architectural brilliance.

The Beehive remains as the centre for New Zealand’s democracy. Popularly known as the Executive Wing of the Parliament, it is the prestigious location where the offices of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet Ministers can be found. Playing a vital role in the national heritage of the country, it has been moulded to perfection by the illustrious British architect and designer, Sir Basil Spence. Creating great interest among visitors is its distinct beehive-shaped appearance, as it stands as a reminiscent structure to a genuinely woven beehive. This intriguing structure features an array of rooms and offices, which radiate from the central core of the building. Featuring artworks and murals by many notable New Zealand artists, its most outstanding mural belongs to John Boys Drawbridge. Towering over 72 metres tall, the Beehive also encompasses an entrance foyer, a banquet hall and the National Crisis Management Centre.
