Rooms in Marlborough hotels may be snapped up quickly by attendees to the area's popular wine festival.

The occasion will be held on February 11th this year at the Brancott Estate in Blenheim, although visitors in the region for the whole weekend could get involved with other activities arranged for the days preceding and following the main event.

On Friday February 10th, attendees can go on the Twilight Sparkling Cruise to Marlborough Sounds on the Marlborough Travel Odyssea Launch and on Sunday February 12th they can take another boat trip to a Greenshell Mussel Farm to learn about and sample the seafood.

Those who want to be at the festival may need to make arrangements quickly, as it attracts as many as 8,000 people a year.

More than 30 food suppliers and 60 wineries will be there, while there will also be live entertainment and a Fashion in the Vines competition.
