Those with a passion for music might like to head and see Roky Erickson in action, something booking a stay in an Auckland hotel could make easier to achieve.

Despite not being widely known the performer is cited as having had a major influence on the sounds of a number of acclaimed artist from across the globe, which could be as good a reason as any to catch him performing live.

The artist is set to take to the stage at The Powerstation on March 7th for what will be his only show in New Zealand and the first ever in the country.

Attendees can expect to hear a selection of tracks from his back catalogue, including some of those featured on his most recent album True Love Cast Out All Evil, which was released in 2010.
