Iconic Manchester band New Order are soon to play at the Vector Arena in New Zealand - and any fans planning to catch the gig may want to book an Auckland hotel sooner rather than later.

The five-piece, known for the classic track Blue Monday, among many others, will entertain crowds in the city on February 27th 2012.

They had all but stopped touring in 2005, so the confirmed date is a must-see. Tickets are due to go on sale via the internet only, from 09:00 local time on Wednesday December 14th. All Ticketmaster outlets will open for purchases at the same time two days later.
Fans will know that the electronic/rock outfit began life as Joy Division in the late 1970s. The band was hit by tragedy when lead singer Ian Curtis committed suicide and it was in 1980 that New Order formed from the remnants of Joy Division.

To date, Blue Monday remains the biggest-selling 12-inch single of all time.

Of course, the Vector Arena is regularly home to some of the highest-profile gigs in the southern hemisphere.

Earlier in February, Roger Waters' The Wall Live is heading to the venue for four performances.
